Dragonfly users occasionally encounter the error code 5 when activating the program:
Error 5 means "access denied", indicating that you don't have write rights in the All Users location. (Activation requires writing a file to the All Users location but your Windows configuration does not allow you to write there.)
While this issue is usually solved by your IT dept, you have 2 choices on your own:
- activate Dragonfly for Current User only
- if you can, run Dragonfly as Administrator while you activate the license, this will ensure that you can write to All Users. After you're done activating you can restart Dragonfly normally.
